I print evenings and mornings off and on right now. I haven’t kept track of my vat prints counts but am going to now. My second 50µm print of a 1.5″ dia. coin caused a seem rupture along the side of my V2 vat. It ran inside the case, didn’t get the boards but it did run over the top of my projector. In a panic I removed and bottled my resin and quickly tried to stop the flow of the resin into the lens. However there was 3DM-Cast resin on the outside of the lens and I had a lightly damp IPA micro fibre cloth and ccleaned it up. Miraculously I feel that it worked, I didn’t scratch the lens enough to hurt the projection as far as I can tell.
3DM is great stuff but it’s vastly harder on the silicon seams than than the lower res les viscous Resins.
Thank you for your print #’s. I’m running this print again on a brand new V2 vat (need a flat part but this is my last good vat). I’ll order a hard silicon floor V1 again, I’ve had better luck with it. I also probably let my V2 vats go until there harder to repair by putting down my own FEP before it’s too late…
