FSL SuperVAT early results (on a Kudo3D Titan)
Due to the issues I had with the soft V2 VAT, I ordered an FSL SuperVAT. While not built for the Kudo3D Titan, it works fine with it. Here is a pic of it, a sample, and settings I’m using that are...

As shown above, that’s printing at 50 micron XY and 50 micron Z, using the small build plate. The print jobs have had no supports. I plan to test faster lift speeds to see if they work. Since the...

Interesting. Your results of requiring higher lifts are the same as my experience with the Muve3D vat, but contrary to what @tdixon1000 found with his custom made vat.Does the SuperVat contain a solid...

The SuperVat has a shell of metal. A flat (hard) piece of clear acrylic sits on top of the bottom part of it. The liner (the so-called special material they fabricated) sits on top of that piece of...

Clever add on for $250. Please share more when you print more resolutions and taller/longer prints. I for one have good experiences with V1.3 and V2 vats but have purchased several over the last 9...

Never mind, if your printing the entire B.P. at 50µm, your thick base rectangle the parts appear attached too would be approx. 96x54mm. Did you just put these pieces on a fat base for testing purposes?

I successfully printed some objects that were about 4 inches tall, though there was strange warping on the flat surface on a single spot. I haven’t had the time to test if my newer lift settings remove...

Kevinrau/James, so the higher lift is a result of the release film not being tight or secure? Yes, I able to do some prints with only 1mm lift, I think a vacuum force between the film and my glass...

On the FSL SuperVAT, the clear plastic resin tray is somewhat flexible. The bottom certainly can bow up a fair amount. The corners are taped and are somewhat rigid – similar to the flexible sides of...

I find that I need 4mm of lift or more to overcome the flex in the whole plate/ball-head/arm assembly itself. The film is stretched quite tight on the Muve3D vat, and it seems to take quite a lot of...

James, the flex I’ve noticed in the linier stage assembly also, was wondering any attempts to remove this?

I haven’t done anything to control the tension to this point. The plastic of the vat seems somewhat more flexible than the side walls of the Kudo3D vats, but much firmer than the teflon on top of the...

My z-height is having a strange “squishing” problem going on. The z-height on some objects is fairly close to what it should be (e.g. 20mm rather than the 22mm the tallest bottle should be), yet other...

Try using magnets on both side of vat, a few inside with resin and a few on projector side underneath to pinch it all together…strong enough magnets can be found to hold thru total thickness of vat.

@tdixon1000 Yup, that would make for a similar result to using a metal c-clamp to do the same thing. In fact, that idea sounds like it would make the FSL SuperVAT act a lot more like a Kudo3D hard vat...

I think the problem with holding the center of the vat with some kind of clamp, magnetic or otherwise, is that then you’ll reduce the amount of flex the film can produce. Since the film is clamped...

I’ve always found the Z height of my parts to be exceedingly accurate. One thing to note is that the attachment layer created by creation workshop will not push up the part above the layer, but rather...
