New Calibration Part Design

Being separated from my printer the last few weeks, I’ve been working on designing a new calibration part with the following features in mind:

  • 30mm x 20mm XY dimensions to fit 2 onto the small build plate, with different X and Y dimensions to make it easier to tell the dimensions apart after de-plating
  • Negative space dimensional accuracy test with a 10mmx10mm square hole in the middle
  • Actual M3 threaded screw with enough clearance to fit a nut to test dimensional accuracy and vertical detail
  • Actual M3 threaded hole to test negative dimensional accuracy
  • 1.8mL volume so even 9 of these laid across the build area won’t consume a ton of resin
  • 9mm height so it’s not too slow
  • Large surface area transition from supports to solid surface to test separation forces
  • Flat sides and two curved half-torus shapes to test vertical surface finish
  • 4mm of solid area above the supports to test light bleed carrying extra exposure down to the supports
  • Conical supports because it was easier to model :)

If you have time, take a look at the part (the link will open an A360 viewer that will let you examine the part in 3D) and let me know what you think, especially any design improvements or other properties to test that I may have missed).
