SM Print and Learn
I recently did a print that I wanted to share. I learned a lot. A trick I’m developing is to make 3d bricks in the modeling stage to attach MeshMixer supports to. I’ve found that the offset distance...

Here is the final print. It uploaded the previous shots in the wrong order. Ment to be 00.jpg, 01.jpg, 02.jpg etc. Here is the final print. Another thing I realized on this print is I didn’t check...

Well another day of no success. I rechecked everything…. levels, build plate, calibration…The first time was a complete mess. The z showed that it reached 15mm, but it honestly hardly moved. I know...

Is this the Calibration part or the Yoda? Can you show a pic of how it’s sliced in CW perhaps? I have never pigmented my MJ-SF and though I’ve found the exposure times that Kudo3D recommends really...

If the build plate isn’t rising the correct amount, neither pigmentation nor a new vat is going to help.My suggestion in this case would be to run prints in an empty vat with no resin so that you can...

Have a split on my V2 vat on one end. I want to get some silicone to repair it on the outside and also use resin on the inside and cure it with the projector to seal the small crevices. Does anyone...

Thank you. I found it as well at home depot so assuming it’s fine for the V2 which I can’t imagine it’s not I’ll go with this.GE Sillicone II

Sorry, my post is irrelevant as I didn’t fully realize your Z linear stage may be malfunctioning.
View ArticleReply To: Z axis compression… constant failures…
I don’t know if it’s malfunctioning. The reason it was off was due (in my mind) to not separating from the vat and therefore the height was pulled off. I will do a test without resin as jkao suggested...

Aquarium silicone is fine as well, “aquarium” means that it’s 100% silicone (any additives would kill the fish) and is generally the purest grade you can buy.

I ran some “dry” runs of some prints….both the calibration piece and yoda. And I’m seeing no incremental elevation during the print. As the software shows the Z of each slice increasing, after lift, I...

You probably need to contact support then, there may be a part that requires replacing. This is a weird one, I’ve not come across anyone else with this problem before. To help clarify exactly what is...

Thanks for the info! this is what i have been wondering about with fixing the silicone for the vats! This reply was modified 11 hours, 18 minutes ago by MrSkullface.

Thanks for the information jkao. I was also wondering in making my own vat with failed vats. I have the teflon sheets but I was unsure with what silicone to use for it. Thanks again!

There are two silicones. One is for sealing, should you tear off the walls or damage the corner seals. For edge sealing, use marine grade or aquarium grade silicone sealant, something that is 100%...

I remember I could set my slicing height to 0.5 in CW and send this over to the Kudo software and also set the layer heights to 0.5 (half a mm). This is really low resolution setting will quickly help...

Dear All,to learn better and make a sort of table of comparison between different resins, I’m using the same model (Yoda from Samples Models) and changing the type or color of the resin. First of all,...

The differences from blue are probably particular to blue (and probably white). The problem, which Kudo3D first mentioned in the “Excessive Curing” topic some time ago, is that pigments that scatter...
